Elen StelmakhThe season RLCS 2022-23 is in full swing: the first matches of the winter split begin, and teams form their rosters and prepare for three back-to-back tournaments before the Major.
Since the schedule is formed way before the start of the first matches, considering external factors, the schedule may shift. However, the current season is being hosted without problems and proceeds according to the initial schedule.
In this material, we will talk about the schedule of RLCS 2022-23: the upcoming tournaments and what fans need to know before the start of the second part of the season and series in general.
The details of the Rocket League Championship Series 2022-23
The season RLCS 2022-23, as in the past, is divided into three splits:
- fall;
- winter;
- spring.
Each split includes three separate tournaments that have received standard namings Open, Cup, and Invitational, respectively, and also the Major that takes place in a certain location in the LAN format.
Teams earn points during regional competitions and international Majors to make it to the final World Championship at the end of the season.
The remarkable thing is that each split gives participants a different format, which does not change only the number of teams but impacts the rules and concept of the tournament. Besides, more points required to get to the final World Championship are up for grabs at every split.
- The Fall Split: The Swiss bracket — eight teams in the playoff with a single elimination
- The Winter Split: The group stage with the Round-Robin system (four participants in each group) — twelve teams in the playoffs with a single elimination
- The Spring Split: Double Elimination bracket (the upper one and the lower one)
24 teams from all regions will be determined depending on their place in regional standings and the general rating and take part in the World Championship. At the same time, the top eight teams in the world will proceed directly to the group stage, while the strongest teams from the regions will form a bracket of the participants of the Wildcard stage.
