G2 Esports forlader IEM Cologne 2022
perepelovskyThe G2 Esports team lost to NIP with a score of 1:2 and left IEM Cologne 2022, finishing 9th-12th and earning $16,000. In turn, the Swedish team will continue its performance in the championship, playing with MOUZ the right to get into the playoffs.
The semi-final of the lower bracket started on the map Ancient, which became the choice of the Swedish team. However, NIP soon regretted her decision to choose this particular card, as she only managed to take two rounds per attack. In turn, G2 Esports, having spent a confident half on defense, managed to get the required number of rounds after switching sides, thanks to which they took the lead in the series — 16:11.
Next, the teams moved to the Nuke map, which became the choice of G2 Esports. Now NiKo and the company had to regret their choice, as NIP mirrored the result of the first half on Ancient and, in fact, decided all the issues. However, after switching sides, G2 Esports managed to try for a comeback, almost catching up with the opponent. Nevertheless, the Swedish team managed to keep the difference, thanks to which they equalized the score in the series - 16:13.
Everything was decided on the Inferno map, the first half of which ended with a two-fold advantage in favor of the NIP players. After the side switch, G2 Esports tried again to return to the game, but in vain. As a result, the Swedish team won the series, thus eliminating G2 Esports from IEM Cologne 2022 — 16:12.
