Esports Elite Heads to Riyadh: Meet the Seven Teams Invited to the World Cup Showdown!
The Esports World Cup organizers have unveiled the names of seven elite teams invited to compete in the prestigious tournament set to commence on July 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. These teams earned their invitations through their performances in the ESL rankings, joining Spirit and Natus Vincere, teams that previously qualified by clinching victories at IEM Katowice and PGL Major Copenhagen, respectively.
FaZe, recognized as the top team globally, leads the roster of invitees, which predominantly features European powerhouses. Alongside FaZe, the tournament will see the participation of G2 and Vitality, both notable for their performances in Major playoffs, as well as Virtus.pro and MOUZ, rounding out the five European teams slated to compete.
Representing the Americas, FURIA and Complexity have been granted the two available invitations, highlighting the tournament's global appeal. The remaining slots will be filled by the victors of regional qualifiers across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Oceania, and the MENA region, scheduled from April 18-20, ensuring a diverse and competitive lineup for the event.
