How The Bookie View It: GamerLegion in Favour
Ahead of the match at PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 between SAW and GamerLegion, the bookmakers see GamerLegion as the clear favourite. GamerLegion is listed at 1.55 for a victory, while SAW is considered the underdog at 2.41. This sets the stage for a challenging encounter for SAW, who will need to deliver their best performance to compete against the more experienced and consistent GamerLegion roster in what promises to be a competitive and tactical match.
GamerLegion form. What result can be expected from GamerLegion
Our betting tips and CS2 picks for the GL vs paiN matchup begin with analyzing GL form. In 2023, GamerLegion did not show much promise. They performed well at local tournaments such as Thunderpick Bitcoin Series #2, where they won, CCT West Europe Series #1, where they finished in the top 2, and RES Western European Masters: Spring 2023, where they again placed among the two strongest teams.
There was also a TOP-1 title at Elisa Invitational Winter 2023, but the main achievement happened in May of the same year. That was when GamerLegion made a sensation and reached the grand final of BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, where they defeated the hosts — Vitality.
- GamerLegion roster: Tauson, PR, ztr, REZ, hypex.
After a bright performance in Paris, GamerLegion lost two of their stars — siuhy and iM. The newcomers neaLaN and volt have not yet reached the level of a Major finalist team, and their statistics speak for themselves: K/D 0.64 for the first and 0.78 for the second.
The first match at IEM Cologne 2023 was against Monte. The Ukrainian club turned out stronger and closed the series 2-0 (16-8 Mirage, 16-11 Overpass). At the tournament, the team defeated The MongolZ and Fnatic, but lost to Cloud9 and dropped out, finishing 7-8th.
Gamers8 went in a similar fashion for GL. GamerLegion defeated Apeks, but were eliminated from the tournament after losing to Heroic and placed 5-8th.
Later, GamerLegion played at ESL Pro League Season 18 and IEM Sydney 2023. Both tournaments were unsuccessful: top-20 at EPL and top-8 in Sydney.
At the end of the year, GamerLegion played at Elisa Masters Espoo 2023 (top-6), BB Dacha (top-8) and ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta (again top-8).
In the 2024 season, before RMR, they managed to play at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024 and IEM Katowice 2024, where they finished in the top 12, which can be considered a decent result.
At PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B, GL started with a crushing loss to Vitality (3-13), then defeated Pera (13-6), but lost to ENCE (14-16) in overtime. Then they were defeated by Heroic and 9Pandas in the decider match, failing to qualify for the Major.
However, they still ended up in Copenhagen, as 9Pandas could not obtain visas. GamerLegion looked solid, but it was not enough to pass into the Elimination Stage, and their journey at the first CS2 Major ended at 17-19th place.
Later, GL played at ESL Pro League Season 19 (top-16) and BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024 (top-16). After EPL 19, they no longer returned to Tier-1 tournaments, with their maximum being a TOP-1 at CCT Season 2 European Series #13.
At Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: European RMR A, GamerLegion lost to Vitality and Dynamo Eclot, but managed to bounce back with wins over Unity Esports and Falcons, and in the decisive match, defeated BB and qualified for the PW Shanghai Major 2024: Opening Stage.
In the opening stage, they defeated FURIA and paiN, then lost to MongolZ, but in the decider match they beat Passion UA.
At the Elimination Stage, GL defeated Vitality and Liquid, then beat Wildcard, but after reaching the next stage, they couldn’t advance further, finishing in the top 14.
In the 2025 season, although GamerLegion have not achieved very high results, they demonstrate a stable level of play.
At ESL Pro League Season 21, they started with a loss to MongolZ, but then confidently defeated NRG and MIBR, after which they beat TYLOO and advanced to the next stage. In the second stage, they lost to MongolZ and paiN, but defeated TYLOO and sAw. However, they couldn’t go higher — a loss to G2 locked them in at 11th place.
The best results for GamerLegion this season so far are 5-8th place at PGL Bucharest 2025 and FISSURE Playground #1.
The team also participated in the Esports World Cup 2025 and several other top-tier tournaments but without significant success, often being eliminated in the early stages.
GamerLegion Map Pool
Over the past three months, GamerLegion has shown mixed results across their map pool. Their strongest map has been Dust2, with a 57.1% win rate, indicating solid performance and control in standard scenarios. Overpass has been fairly balanced, especially as a first pick, winning half of their matches. On Inferno, Nuke, and Ancient, the team has struggled more, winning less than half of their games, which suggests issues with coordinated executions and holding key areas. Train has been their weakest map, with only a 20% win rate, highlighting it as an area that needs significant improvement if GamerLegion wants to be competitive in upcoming tournaments. Overall, the statistics show clear strengths and weaknesses, helping to predict which maps might favor them in future matches.

In August, SAW struggled at ESL Challenger League Season 50: Europe - Cup #1 with a 0–2 result, yet showed stronger performance at CCT Season 3 European Series #4, placing 3–4th and earning $5,000. Throughout the season, the team demonstrated resilience and strategic adaptability, balancing victories in smaller offline events with learning experiences from tougher B-Tier and qualifier tournaments. Strong individual performances from key players, combined with SYDOX’s coaching, helped SAW refine their map strategies, improve communication, and maintain consistency against varied European opposition.
Overall, SAW in 2025 showed that they are a competitive and steadily improving team on the international CS2 stage. While results varied across tournaments, the team consistently demonstrated disciplined play, strategic awareness, and the potential to challenge higher-ranked opponents. With a balanced roster and strong coaching support, SAW remains a notable contender in both online and offline competitions, with each event contributing to their growth and international recognition.
SAW Map Pool
Over the past three months, SAW has demonstrated clear strengths and weaknesses across different maps in CS2. Their strongest map is Nuke, where they have an impressive 84.6% win rate when choosing it as the first pick, followed by Dust2 at 71.4% and Train at 66.7%, showing consistent performance on traditional and tactical maps. On Ancient, they remain solid with a 54.5% win rate, while Inferno has proven more challenging, yielding only 25% victories. Their weakest map is Overpass, where SAW has yet to secure a win in recent months. This map pool indicates a team that excels on structured, strategic maps but struggles on certain popular maps that require heavy adaptability and coordinated mid-round decision-making.
