DPC 2021/2022 Tour 3 has come to its end in all rating regions. Teams were fighting for prize money, but what is more important, the desired DPC points and slots in the Major. Because the goal and dream of any professional Dota 2 team are to perform at the annual The International tournament to fight the strongest teams from all over the world and achieve the main prize in their career. In this material, we will talk about the teams’ performance in the first divisions and notice the best representatives of Division II, which have managed to go on promotion.

The best performance in the first division was shown by the team Tundra Esports, which lost only once in the match against Team Liquid in the season. Sneyking and the team finished first with statistics 6-1. It is worth noting the battle between Team Liquid and OG. OG was considered to be one of the main contenders to prevail in the league but it was defeated by Liquid with a score of 0:2 in the last DPC week, which brought them to the 2nd-3rd place tiebreaker. The result repeated and the young roster of the legendary organization stepped down to third place in the standings. It has not changed a lot for Yuragi and the team because they will go to PGL Arlington Major after all but there is a feeling that OG was relaxed in the match against the last opponent.

Probably, everyone has already written about the incredibly bad performance by Alliance. Nikobaby and the team had managed to come back to the first division after Tour 2 but they had to try hard to step down once again with such a poor score. Alliance has not won a map in 7 matches. Besides, the performance of such teams as Team Secret and Gaimin Gladiators is also disappointing. Puppey and his teammates were even in the elimination zone for some time but they managed to fix the situation, however, the team will not visit the Major. Gaimin Gladiators have the same fate. The team, which placed fourth at ESL One Stockholm 2022, finished with a result of 2-5. “The Gladiators” were not eliminated only because they defeated goonsquad in the 6th-7th place tiebreaker.

The distribution of prizes in the first division of Western Europe:

  • 1st place - Tundra Esports - $30,000 - 500 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 2nd place - Team Liquid - $28,000 - 300 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 3rd place - OG - $27,000 - 200 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 4th place - Entity - $26,000 - 100 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 5th place - Team Secret - $25,000 - 50 DPC points
  • 6th place - Gaimin Gladiators - $24,000
  • 7th place - goonsquad - $23,000
  • 8th place - Alliance - $22,000

And what about DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II?

In the second division, Nigma Galaxy, being surrounded by weaker opponents, outplayed all of them and returned to Division I with statistics 7-0. The only team to win a map against KuroKy and his teammates was Into The Breach. As a result, it has placed second and will also be promoted to the first division.

Generally speaking, the first division of Eastern Europe was pretty unbalanced because we have three teams, which have finished with a score of 6-1, and three clubs, which have performed with a result of 1-6. It reflects the level of competition in the region. So there were two series of tiebreakers to determine the first three places and the last three places. The last ones were more principled because no one wanted to leave Division I.

The team Mind Games was a disappointment of the region. The team, which had held third place at DPC EEU 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division I Playoffs and had to go to ESL One Stockholm 2022, stopped in sixth place, having achieved victories against Pari Parni and in tiebreakers. By the way, the team had not gone to the Major back then because of visa restrictions due to the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

The distribution of prizes in the first division of Eastern Europe:

  • 1st place - Outsiders - $30,000 - 500 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 2nd place - Natus Vincere - $28,000 - 300 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 3rd place - Team Spirit - $27,000 - 200 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 4th place - BetBoom Team - $26,000 - 100 DPC points
  • 5th place - One Move - $25,000 - 50 DPC points
  • 6th place - Mind Games - $24,000
  • 7th place - Pari Parni - $23,000
  • 8th place - Rune Eaters Esports - $22,000

And what about DPC EEU 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II?

On the outcome of the second division, HellRaisers will come back to the ranks of the best teams in the region, having lost only to No Sorry. But the main discovery was the team Nemiga Gaming. Nemiga passed the open qualifiers, the closed qualification and finished with a result of 6-1 in the second league. HellRaisers was the only team to defeat them. In such a way, the Belarussian team will play in Division I for the first time in the next season.

The situation in China is diametrically opposite. The team Royal Never Give Up has become the leader with a score of 5-2, which had sensationally lost its first match against the newcomers of the division in the face of Dandelion Esport Club. The club suffered the second loss in the battle against PSG.LGD. Four teams finished their performance with statistics 4-3 in this region, which led to dramatic tiebreakers, on the outcome of which Aster.Aries left without a ticket to the Major. It is worth noting that almost all teams in the first division of China are worth going to PGL Arlington Major because the Chinese Dota 2 scene is considered to be the strongest in the world for a reason. Also, it is worth noting the performance of the team PSG.LGD. The finalists of The International 10 had an extremely unconfident start. It was clear that the players were lacking motivation because they had already earned the necessary number of points in the DPC season 2021/2022 to go to the World Championship this year. But in the end, NothingToSay and his teammates focused and guaranteed themselves a slot in the Major. There can’t be too much game practice.

Having lost a tiebreaker against EHOME, Vici Gaming will step down in class. Once the finalists of The International 2014 had statistics 3-4 and did not seem much weaker than the rest representatives of the region. Dandelion Esport Club was the only team, which made a sensation at the start of the league but then demonstrated the difference in gaming skills. The team had made it to the first division due to a great performance in Division II. But the club obviously lacked experience, so Dandelion will have to take a step back.

The distribution of prizes in the first division of China:

  • 1st place - Royal Never Give Up - $30,000 - 500 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 2nd place - Team Aster - $28,000 - 300 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 3rd place - Xtreme Gaming - $27,000 - 200 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 4th place - PSG.LGD - $26,000 - 100 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major

  • 6th place - EHOME - $24,000
  • 7th place - Vici Gaming - $23,000
  • 8th place - Dandelion Esport Club - $22,000

And what about DPC CN 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II?

In the second division, CDEC Gaming and Invictus Gaming finished their matches with a result of 6-1 and proceeded to Division I. In such a way, Invictus Gaming returned to the elite league, from which they had been eliminated on the outcome of Tour 2.

The team Talon Esports was pleasantly surprised. At the beginning of the season, 23savage with his teammates passed the open qualifiers, spent two tours in Division II, and advanced to the first division. The young team lost only to Fnatic. And it was defeated in the 1st-2nd place tiebreaker by BOOM Esports with a score of 1:2. Statistics 6-1 is a nice result for the newcomers of the division. BOOM Esports and Fnatic, which have demonstrated a decent performance, will also go to the Major.

Polaris Esports had been an obvious underdog of the season before the start of the league. And so it happened. Tmv and the team were not able to win a match, having become the second team with a result of 0-7 in Tour 3. The Southeast Asian roster of the organization Nigma Galaxy has become a disappointment in the region. Nigma Galaxy SEA managed to beat only Polaris Esports and will have to play against lower-level opponents.

The distribution of prizes in the first division of Southeast Asia:

  • 1st place - BOOM Esports - $30,000 - 500 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 2nd place - Talon Esports - $28,000 - 300 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major

  • 8th place - Polaris Esports - $22,000

And what about DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II?

After seven matches, the esports teams Execration and Lilgun will be promoted to the first division. It was extremely interesting to follow the Mongolian club Lilgun because they had already recommended themselves as a tough medium team. The squad will return to the ranks of the best representatives of Southeast Asia. Let’s see if the Mongols are capable of improving the result of their previous run in Division I.

There was only one intrigue during the whole Tour 3 in North America: which one of the three favorites will not make it to PGL Arlington Major? Because Evil Geniuses, Quincy Crew, and nouns were demonstrating a very confident performance, defeating almost everyone on their way. As a result, the fate of two slots in the Major was determined by a series of tiebreakers. Nouns appeared to be the weakest team in bo1 matches. Finally, EG and QCY will go to Arlington, Texas to compete for money prizes and DPC points.

Felt will return to the second division, having held the last place in the league. The Cut was not able to beat 5RATFORCESTAFF in a bo1 tiebreaker and will also step down in class.

The distribution of prizes in the first division of North America:

  • 1st place - Evil Geniuses - $30,000 - 500 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major
  • 2nd place - Quincy Crew - $28,000 - 300 DPC points - a slot in PGL Arlington Major

And what about DPC NA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II?

The team from the closed qualifiers, Alpha defeated absolutely all opponents and will begin the next season in the first division. Also, KBU.US showed decent play and will join the best teams in North America for a reason.

The winner of the league is the team Thunder Awaken, which finished with a score of 6-1. Pandaboo and the team lost only to Infamous in the first match of the league with a result of 0:2. They are followed by beastcoast and the above-mentioned Infamous. The teams showed similar results and had to determine the best one in a tiebreaker. Having achieved victory on two maps in a row, beastcoast will go to PGL Arlington Major together with Thunder Awaken but Infamous will save a slot in Division I.

It is worth noting that the newbies of the first division in the face of Wolf Team and SG esports, which managed to come back to the ranks of the best teams in the region, saved their slots for the next season. Infinity and Hokori will have to step down to Division II.

The distribution of prizes in the first division of South America:

And what about DPC SA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II?

The Brazilian Dota 2 roster, which had been signed by the football club Coritiba FC, called Coritiba Esports and the Peruvian team Ravens managed to proceed to the first division. They will begin the next season there.

Conclusion: what is coming up next?

After seven gaming weeks, all participants of PGL Arlington Major were determined, about which we wrote previously. Teams will be fighting for 4570 DPC points and $500,000 of the prize pool. Also, there is the LAN tournament called Ryadh Masters 2022. 10 teams from all over the world fight for a solid prize pool of $4,000,000. The competition is scheduled for June 20-24. It will become a nice practice for teams ahead of the Major and it will allow us to evaluate the power of the representatives of different regions.

DPC 2021/2022 Tour 3 marked the appearance of new teams and the decline of the old ones. It means that there is a change of generations and the rise of fresh blood on the stage, which is positive. A bright example of the downturn of the generally-recognized leaders is the situation with Team Secret and Nigma Galaxy in Europe. KuroKy and his team have already stepped down to the second division and come back, despite having held the leading positions at the tournaments in The International series in the past, they even became the world champions in 2017. The traditions are still the same in some regions, for example, in North America in the case of Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew. China still demonstrated the best Dota 2 play, so it will be very interesting to see what results they will show against teams from all over the world. Because due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have not seen them for a while, to be precise, since the end of The International 2021.
