Valve distributed direct invites to International 2017
This night, new details on the upcoming The International 2017 appeared.
Valve revealed the names of teams who got the direct invites to the main stage of the tournament, and also the teams that received invited to the closed qualifiers for The International 7.
The following teams received the direct invites to LAN-final: Virtus.pro, four-times champions of Major tournaments, the winners of The Summit 7, Evil Geniuses, the world champions 2015, Team Liquid, the winners of EPICENTER: MOSCOW 2017, Invictus Gaming who got triumphed on DAC 2017, and the champions of Galaxy Battles 2017, Newbee.
As usual, 16 teams will participate in the event. 12 slots for TI7 will be distributed among the best teams of the qualifiers, that will take place in 6 different regions.
The qualifiers will take place in the following regions: China, SEA, North America, South America, Europe, CIS region. The organizers allocated 3 invites for the representatives of China and SEA. North America and Europe got 2 invites each, and CIS and South America would have one invite.
The Open Quals will be held on June 22-25, and Closed Quals — on June 26-29.
