Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to follow The International's most exciting tournament of January 2024 - DreamLeague Season 22: WE Closed Qualifier. The battles for the opportunity to play in the main tournament, i.e. DreamLeague Season 22 itself, continue.
Among the contenders for passage are Team Secret and Team wkwkwkwk. Both clubs are in the lower grid of the tournament, so no one has the right to make a mistake.
We are trying to find out who of the pair Secret - Team wkwkwkwk will be stronger in this battle and at the end of the match will advance on the last chance grid further, where Team Tickles will be waiting for them.
Let's go.
Team Secret uniforms
Let's open the match with an analysis of Team Secret's form. In this match, the team will play Secret with odds around 1.2.
After reaching the finals of The International 2022, Secret changed their squad, but it had a critical impact on their performance. So critical that Secret completely failed in the first DPC season, falling to the second division.
In the second cycle of DPC Secret played in the second division. There Puppey's team won the league, which was expected, but still.
The return to the first league was supposed to be a triumph, but in reality it turned out to be a flop. Secret were awful and the outcome of their game was a relegation back to the second division.
After losing the first division of Western Europe, Team Secret played in two commercial tournaments. These were DreamLeague Season 20 and Riyadh Masters 2023.
Both championships Secret, to put it bluntly, failed. At DreamLeague Season 20, Puppey and company finished in the top 12, as they did at Riyadh Masters 2023.
The last event before BB Dacha was the Western European qualifiers for The International 2023. Secret looked good through the qualifiers, but still couldn't break through the most competitive region, ending up in the top 4.
At BB Dacha, SumaiL joined Puppey and that did the team good. Secret made it through the group stage and won the first round of the top set, shutting out beastcoast 2-0.
In the match to qualify for the BB Dacha Grand Final, Secret played against GG. The match ended with an expected win for GG on two maps. Having got to the bottom net Secret finished their performance at BB Dacha by defeating PSG Quest.
After the successful tournament came a series of qualifying events. Secret tried their best to qualify for a major international event, and they did. After two open qualifications and a closed stage of qualifiers, Puppey and company went to ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, where they played quite well. The final top-8 ranking hints at the ability of Secret's current roster to put on a pretty decent performance.
- Team Secret roster: Crystallis, Kordan, BOOM, Ekki, Puppey.
At first glance, the roster looks pretty questionable, but it takes time anyway. The DreamLeague Season 22: WEU Closed Qualifiers, by the way, were invited by the organisers.
Secret debuted at DreamLeague Season 22: WEU Closed Qualifiers with a match against Tundra Esports. The match ended rather quickly (0-2), not in favour of Secret.
Team Secret's most popular heroes
Secret Mirana, Tusk and Primal Beast are among the most chosen heroes. All of them have 6 matches and 83% wins.
In addition, Monkey King and Ember Spirit appeared in spades (5 games each and 100% wins). Death Prophet also played 5 matches, however she won 4 matches.
Also Jakiro (3 matches, 100% wins), Enchantress (3 matches, 100% wins). Abaddon (2 matches, 66% wins), Broodmother (2 matches, 100% wins).
Team wkwkwkwk
We continue the match analysis with Team wkwkwkwk's form. They will have to play as the number two, with odds to win at around 3.8.
Team wkwkwkwk is a typical collective image of a mix team. Rather not even a team, but a full-fledged mix.
They appeared on the professional scene on the eve of the DreamLeague Season 22 qualifiers. Apparently, they were assembled at random and there is no faith in their "long term". However, perhaps I'm wrong.
One of the achievements of wkwkwk is getting to the closed qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 22. They did it by playing at the open qualifiers. And immediately on their first attempt.
They beat Ninja Penguins, Team Hryvnia, and Navi Junior on their way to the closed qualifiers. Truth be told, they were lucky they didn't end up on the same grid as Tundra Esports, because they would have had to play a second qualifier. With a high probability.
- Team wkwkwk: Knight, Stojkov, s4, Xepher, Handsken.
Wkwkwkwk is an attempt to experience a second youth for the established Swedes. In addition to them, Xepher - one of the most famous players in Southeast Asia - plays in wkwkwk. In general, there is someone to perform, but the question of chemistry and teamwork remains open.
In the first match, wkwkwkwk played against Entity. As expected, the European title club had no problem coping with the s4 mix.
Team wkwkwkwk's most popular champions
Natures Prophet and Rubick appeared most often in spades. Both characters have been taken 4 times each and have 100% wins.
Vengeful Spirit, Beastmaster and Tusk have appeared a similar number of times. They have won 3 matches out of 4 appearances each.
History of head-to-head meetings Secret - wkwkwkwk
This will be the first face-to-face match between Team wkwkwkwk and Team Secret.
Predicted result of Team wkwkwkwk - Team Secret at DreamLeague Season 22: WEU Closed Qualifier
In this match I expect a smooth and confident game from Secret. As far as I'm concerned, they should easily outplay their opponents and move further down the lower grid.
Bottom line: Secret wins.
