Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue tracking the action at LPL 2025 Split 2, where the playoff stage is heating up. In the Knockout Stage (the official name for the playoffs), 8 teams will compete for 2 spots at the Mid-Season Invitational 2025 and the Esports World Cup 2025.
Among the contenders for international tournament spots are Bilibili Gaming and Invictus Gaming, who will face off in the first round of the playoffs.
Let’s analyze which of the two—BLG or IG—will prove stronger and advance to the next playoff round.
Let’s go.
Bilibili Gaming’s Form
We begin our BLG vs IG match preview by analyzing BLG’s current form. In this match, the top Chinese team is the favorite with odds around 1.3.
BLG stormed into the Chinese top 2, earning themselves a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational 2023. At that international event, they made headlines again by reaching the grand final, where they lost only to JD Gaming.
Another key to BLG’s success was their revamped roster at the start of 2023, which turned out to be a top-tier lineup.
- BLG roster: Bin, XUN, knight, Elk, ON.
Following a truly triumphant half-year, Bilibili Gaming didn’t slow down. They were the first to qualify for the LPL Summer 2023 playoffs and set a local record by finishing the group stage with just one loss—the best result in the league’s history.
In the first playoff match, BLG confidently beat TES 3-1.
In the upper bracket final, they faced their archrivals JD Gaming. The reigning LPL champions gave them no chance, sweeping BLG 3-0.
Unlike in the Spring Split, BLG looked slightly less dominant in Summer. The MSI 2023 runners-up finished third in the Summer Split after losing 1-3 to LNG Esports in the qualification match for the grand final.
At Worlds 2023, BLG got a tough opponent in their opening match: Korea’s third seed KT Rolster. After a 45-minute battle, they came out on top.
Next came JD Gaming, but this time BLG couldn't pull off a win. However, they got a “free pass” round against Fnatic and moved up to a 2-1 record.
With that, BLG drew T1—and that didn’t bode well. T1 won and advanced, while BLG dropped to the 2-2 bracket.
In the final Swiss round, BLG faced G2 Esports and won 2-1, sending Europe’s top team home.
In the first playoff round, Bilibili Gaming played against Gen.G. After a straightforward 2-0 start, Gen.G tied the series 2-2, but BLG managed to win game five by catching Chovy’s Akali out several times, eliminating the Korean giants.
However, BLG couldn’t defeat fellow Chinese squad WBG in the semifinal and missed out on the grand final of Worlds 2023.
At the 2023 Demacia Cup, BLG’s debut was against Royal Never Give Up. One of the group stage’s most hyped teams was overwhelmed 3-1. In the semifinal, BLG easily defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas, and did the same to JD Gaming in the final.
BLG came into MSI 2024 as LPL Spring champions after beating TES 3-1 in the grand final. At MSI 2024, they debuted with a narrow 3-2 win over PSG Talon, and then beat a tougher opponent in T1. However, they couldn’t handle another LCK team—Spring Split champions Gen.G—and dropped to the lower bracket after a 1-3 loss. In the lower bracket final, they beat T1 again 3-2 but lost to Gen.G in the final.
Later, BLG played at the Esports World Cup 2024, where they lost in the first round to T1, who went on to win the tournament. They then resumed play at LPL Summer 2024, where they finished first in Group B. In the Rumble Stage, they dominated with a 7-1 record to finish first.
BLG qualified for Worlds 2024 thanks to winning LPL Summer 2024, where they crushed WBG 3-0 in the grand final. At Worlds, they played great and reached the grand final—only to lose again to T1 in a close 2-3 series.
They started the 2025 season strongly, as expected from China’s #1 team: two group wins and an early playoff qualification. However, a loss in the final group match pushed them into the lower bracket. In the main stage, they defeated Weibo Gaming and TT Gaming but lost to TES in the next round, finishing the tournament in the Top 4.
In LPL 2025 Split 2, Bilibili Gaming won Group A and finished in the Top 4 during the Rumble Stage.

Invictus Gaming’s Form
Now we continue the BLG vs IG preview with an analysis of Invictus Gaming’s current form. In this matchup, IG are the underdogs with odds around 4.0.
Once a major threat both locally and internationally, IG were the first Chinese team to win Worlds in 2018—but have fallen off since then.
Their last notable achievement was a Top 3 finish at the LPL Regional Finals 2020. More recently, they finished 11th at LPL Spring 2023—just two series short of playoffs.
- IG roster: TheShy, JieJie, Rookie, GALA, Meiko.
Early in the season, it was clear that IG weren’t playoff material. As the season ended, they were seen as one of the weakest teams and likely candidates for roster changes.
In LPL Summer 2023, IG were their usual selves: they finished 12th and didn’t make playoffs. Local tournaments followed, including Esports Shanghai Masters 2023 (Top 3 finish) and NEST 2023 (a disaster with a Top 16 finish).
Before LPL Spring 2024, IG played NEST 2023 and Demacia Cup 2023. At NEST, they went 0-3 in the group stage and didn’t qualify. In Demacia Cup, they went 3-1 in groups but still didn’t make the playoffs.
In the LPL Spring 2024 group stage, IG managed a Top 10 finish and reached playoffs—but were knocked out by Weibo in a 3-2 series. Final standing: 10th place. The Summer Split (LPL Summer 2025) was even worse, as they failed to advance past groups and placed 13th.
In the 2025 season, IG started in Group D at LPL Spring 2025. They finished 1st in their group, then placed 5th in the Rumble Stage.

Head-to-Head: Invictus Gaming vs Bilibili Gaming
They played each other twice in the 2025 season. BLG won both matches.
Predicted Outcome: BLG vs Invictus Gaming – LPL 2025 Split 2
In this match, I expect a win from BLG. Despite a rather lackluster showing in LPL 2025 Split 1, I believe they’ll take down IG here.
Prediction: BLG wins 3-1.
