During the "regular season", the 10 participating teams at LEC Winter 2024 battle it out for 8 slots in the tournament's play-offs. There seem to be plenty of slots, but it's important to realise that all regular season matches are Bo1, and it doesn't forgive mistakes.

Among the contenders are Karmine Corp and GiantX. Both teams have quite big ambitions, but to realise them, they need to gain maximum points in each of their matches. Including this head-to-head match.

Karmine Corp uniforms

The last tournament of last season was the Coup De France 2024 championship. Either there was no priority for the event, or they were not in shape at all, but KC took the top 8 there.

Karmine Corp became a member of LEC through the purchase of a slot from Astralis. The Danish club, which did not achieve results last season, decided to sell its place in the prestigious league. Whether they did the right thing - we will find out later.

In the first match of LEC Winter 2024 Karmine Corp will play against Fnatic. In that match I believe in the victory of Karmine. After that - the game against G2 Esports and there Karmine Corp will be much more difficult. However, with Fnatic everything turned out to be the opposite: KC won, and with G2 Esports - everything is logical, an easy victory for the "samurai".

At the end of the first week, Karmine Corp were 0-3. The most offensive defeat from the principal rival - MAD Lions.

The centre line is played with Ahri (4 matches, 0% wins), Tristana (3 matches, 100% wins) and Syndra (3 matches, 100% wins).

The ADC position is most often occupied by Lucian (4 matches. 50% wins), Aphelios (4 matches, 75% wins).

Nami (3 games, 66% wins), Thresh (3 matches, 100% wins) are often paired with shooters.

GiantX Form

We continue our analysis of the KC vs GiantX match with an analysis of GiantX's form. In this match, they will play as the number two, with odds to win at around 2.3.

GIANTX is the new name for the LEC league. The LEC 2024 Winter Split is the debut match for the club, which has absorbed the EXCEL slot. Incidentally, GIANTX themselves are the fruit of a merger between British club EXCEL and Spanish club Giants.

GIANTX had a very difficult last season. At LEC Winter 2023, the team completely failed, finishing in the top 10.

The spring split, however, didn't show anything new. GIANTX once again failed in the split and once again came in last.

After two disgusting splits, GIANTX changed their forester and replaced Targamas with South Korean legionnaire Peach. The change was a good thing, because there is no other way to explain the miracle-run at LEC Summer 2023.

GIANTX not only finished in the top 3, but also made it to the split grand final, thus guaranteeing themselves a spot in the LEC Finals. Ledge and G2 Esports are in the finals, but there is no shame in that, you have to understand.

The achievements of LEC Summer 2023 are at risk of being reversed given the experience of the first match of LEC Finals 2023. In the match against MAD Lions, GIANTX looked more like what we saw during LEC Winter and Spring, but not at the summer split.

In the next match, then EXCEL faced Fnatic. That match was more like something worthwhile and ended in a full-fledged bo5, but in Fnatic's favour. For ex-Excel, LEC Finals 2024 ended with a top-5 finish.

In their first match under the new tag, GIANTX will meet Vitality. I think the Ledge Bees will bee. Next up is The International and the game against BDS. If the French can beat the former, it's hard to believe that they will succeed against BDS.

In the first week of LEC Winter 2024, GiantX played 1-2. The only win was against the weakest team, Vitality.

Nominally, this is the debut meeting of the clubs.

In the first week, Karmine Corp seemed to me unprepared to compete with the top European clubs on a level playing field. However, their excuse may be that they have already played against G2 and Fnatic, and MAD Lions KOI is not the last team in Europe. Still, I have a feeling that GiantX will win.
