Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to look at the action in LEC Spring 2025 as the first week of matches heats up, giving us a first look at the state of play in Europe heading into Spring 2025.
The final match of the first game week will be between Fnatic and SK Gaming. Both teams clearly have the potential to finish high in the spring split, but it is too early to talk about it.
We are trying to figure out which of the Fnatic – SK Gaming pair will be stronger and earn additional points ahead of the start of the new week.
Let's go.
Fnatic uniform
We open the analysis of the match Fnatic – SK Gaming with an analysis of the game form of Fnatic. In this match they play as favorites with a coefficient of victory in the region of 1.1.
Fnatic began their ascent to the LEC regional finals of the season before last with a performance at LEC Winter 2023. It would be hard to call it a success, as the “orange” team finished the tour in 9th place, not making it out of the group stage.
The following season, Fnatic gave the roster with Rekkles one last chance. They failed to use it, because FNC, having left the group stage, lost in the first match to MAD Lions, thus ending the spring split in the TOP-8.
- Fnatic roster: Oscarinin, Razork, Humanoid, Upset, Mikyx.
Two terrible splits led to major changes. The then roster lost shooter Rekkles and support Advienne. They were replaced by Korean legionary Noah and experienced support Trymbi. The results were not long in coming.
Fnatic looked much better in the LEC Summer Split than they had in the two before. The team managed to get through the group stage and then reach the Top 3 of LEC Summer 2023, which allowed them to advance to the regional finals. Well, to the lower bracket, to be honest.
In the match for reaching the Top 4, Fnatic played against Excel, the main revelation of LEC Summer 2023, and won. They won with a score of 3-2 in a tense Bo5.
In the match for the LEC Finals 2023 minor final, Fnatic and BDS put up a real fight (3-2), as a result of which Fnatic ended up here.
They also managed to bypass MAD Lions, with whom they played for a place in the grand final. And again a full bo5 with a score of 3-2 in favor of the “orange”. But they didn’t have enough for the grand final: G2 Esports outclassed Fnatic with a score of 3-1.
At Worlds 2023, the “orange” played according to their capabilities. The club lost the first match against LNG Esports, and then beat the Vietnamese from GAM Esports.
The last match on the way to the 1-2 bracket was a duel with BLG, which Fnatic naturally lost. Then FNC beat C9 with a score of 2-1, and in the match for reaching the playoffs they lost to WBG. The latter, by the way, became the vice-champion of the world championship, so the result for the European club was excellent.
Fnatic will debut at LEC Winter 2024 with a match against Karmine Corp. Based on the experience of previous seasons, there is every chance to see the favorite (and that is Fnatic) lose in that match. Next, they will have a match against Vitality, and here I would bet in favor of the “orange”. That’s pretty much how it turned out, if you don’t count the match against Karmine Corp: Fnatic closed two series, but lost in the match against SK Gaming.
Fnatic started the regular season pretty well, but then things got worse. As a result, Fnatic finished the regular season with a score of 5-4. The “orange ones” started the LEC Winter 2024 playoffs with a very confident victory for MAD Lions. Then Fnatic played against G2 Esports and looked good there, even managed to snatch a map, which no one has managed to do yet.
In the match for the quarterfinals, Fnatic met SK Gaming. The German club put up a fight, but Fnatic turned out to be stronger: 2-1 in favor of Humanoid and the company guaranteed them passage to the TOP-4 of LEC Winter 2024.
In the next match, Fnatic managed to put up a fight against G2 Esports and take the map from them, but they failed to surpass the “samurai” in the match. They also failed to cling to continued participation in the tournament in the lower bracket, where Fnatic lost to KOI with a score of 2-3. As a result of LEC Winter 2024, Fnatic took the TOP-4.
Fnatic finished the LEC Spring 2024 regular season in first place, which the team had not done since 2019. In the first round of the playoffs, Fnatic shut down GIANTX with class. In the match for reaching the final of the LEC Spring 2024 upper bracket, they met G2 and lost without a chance with a score of 0-2. In the lower bracket, they also had difficulties, such as in the game against Heretics, but in the end they were able to defeat their opponents with a score of 2-1 and move on. In the match for reaching the TOP-3, Fnatic met Vitality and confidently beat them with a score of 3-1.
Fnatic fought against BDS for the LEC Spring 2024 Grand Final and it was a real spectacle: the “orange” were flying with a score of 0-2, but with character they made a reverse sweep and closed the series in their favor. As a result, Fnatic will go to MSI 2024. In the LEC Spring 2024 Grand Final, the “orange” played against G2 Esports and naturally lost that match.
Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2024 Fnatic started their performance with a win over GAM Esports without any problems at all with a score of 2-0. In the upper bracket match, they met Top Esports and put up a good fight: they took the map, but ultimately lost the series with a score of 1-2. In the match for reaching the playoffs of MSI 2024, Fnatic again beat GAM Esports with a score of 2-0. In the first match of the Bracket Stage, they lost to Gen.G with a score of 0-3, but showed their game. But in the lower bracket match, Fnatic quite unexpectedly lost to TL with a score of 1-3, thereby leaving MSI 2024 at the TOP-8 stage.
Before the start of Esports World Cup 2024, Fnatic confidently reached the LEC Summer 2024 playoffs. As a result of EWC 2024, Fnatic took the TOP-8. On the home stage - TOP-2 at LEC Summer 2024 and LEC Finals 2024. However, one of Fnatic's most important achievements is getting to Worlds 2024, where the "orange" managed to get into the TOP-14.
The team went through the LEC Winter 2025 group stage with great confidence. They lost only 1 map in the group stage, finishing it with a score of 9-1. They started the playoffs confidently, beating Heretics with a score of 2-0. But then came the match against G2 Esports and a loss with a score of 0-2. In the lower bracket match of LEC Winter 2025, Fnatic played against BDS, where they barely won with a score of 2-1, mostly due to BDS’s “drain” on the third map. In the next match, they looked much more confident: they beat KOI with a score of 3-1. But they couldn’t win against KC: 2-3 and the final TOP-3.
Fnatic kicked off LEC Spring 2025 with a 0-2 win over GiantX.

SK Gaming Uniform
We continue our analysis of the SK Gaming – Fnatic match with an analysis of SK Gaming’s game form. In this match, they are playing as underdogs with a win odds of around 7.
SK Gaming's main achievement for the season before last was the debut LEC winter split. The team, being among the outsiders and previously occupying the TOP-8 in LEC Spring and LEC Summer, managed not only to get to the playoffs, but also to impose a serious fight on MAD Lions in the match for the TOP-3.
Things got much worse later. At LEC Spring 2023, SK Gaming were no longer so confident. This time, they managed to get through the regular season and bo1 matches, but not the group stage. SK dropped out in the TOP-7.
- SK Gaming lineup: JNX, Isma, Reeker, Rahel, Loopy.
At LEC Summer 2023, SK Gaming almost repeated the spring result, with a slight improvement. They took TOP-6, but thanks to TOP-4 at LEC Winter 2023, they still reached the regional finals.

In the first round of the playoffs, SK Gaming met Vitality. After a terrible start to the season, Vitality came back, and managed to get to the second round of the upper bracket, and SK Gaming went to the lower bracket. There, in the first round, they met Team Heretics and turned out to be stronger, and this despite the fact that they were nominal outsiders. However, the path to the LEC Winter 2024 playoffs ended for SK Gaming with a match in the second round of the playoffs against Fnatic.
They got to the LEC Spring 2024 playoffs by chance and character. To get to the main stage, they had to win tiebreakers against Rogue. In the first match of the playoffs, SK gave a good fight to Vitality, taking a map from them, but unfortunately for them, this did not help them win. A similar situation was in the match against Heretics, which ultimately led SK Gaming to the TOP-8.
SK Gaming finished the LEC Summer 2024 regular season in 1st place with a score of 8-1. At the start of the LEC Summer 2024 playoffs, they dealt with Heretics with class, winning with a score of 2-0. Next was a match against Fnatic, where SK Gaming lost with a score of 0-2. And in the next game, they unexpectedly lost to Karmine Corp with a score of 1-2.
They started from the lower bracket at the 2024 LEC Regional Finals. They didn't get very far, finishing in the top 6.
The 2025 season started with a performance at LEC Winter 2025. And they played the winter season terribly, missing the playoffs.

Everything points to the fact that there should be no chance for SK here. I am sure that will be the case and Fnatic will close their opponents with a score of 2-0.
