Holdkaptajn FunPlus Phoenix gav et kort interview om organisationen VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen
Danil ChepilFENNEL team coach Ivan 'Johnta' Shevtsov asked Kirill 'ANGE1' Karasev, captain of FunPlusPhoenix, a few questions about his stay at VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen.
Tell me how you have everything organized there. You have a lot of experience with high level lans, I wonder how Riot is doing compared to other tournament organizers. Like the hotel, the practice rooms and the studio where the matches were played? How are the computers and the conditions in general fed well?
In general, the organization is at the level of a top tier-1 CS event. The only notable difference is that we have a press conference after every match played and a lot more video/photo footage. A few days of 4-5 hours have been allocated for this. The hotel is good, I even was in it at one of the CS tournaments, with almost identical chairs and tables to computers as in the gaming arena. All at the highest level. As for food, you yourself choose what you eat, a card with a limit of about €800 per day is simply allocated for the team. It doesn't matter if you ordered delivery or ate at the hotel restaurant - the main thing is to take a picture of the checks.
Already been to the arena? If not, what do you know and what do you expect?
The arena is being built from scratch in the same place where we played the first part of the tournament. How everything will be, until I fully understand. But knowing Riot, I think everything will be at the highest level.
You are now on a few days off, what are you planning to do and how many Riot teams are involved in different activities?
Coach Eric and I spend every free minute preparing, if we play 5-6 practice sessions with discussion on a free day. If there is a day with a match, then discussion + 2 practice. In general, a very difficult tournament in terms of free time, but for us it is more likely due to a lack of understanding of who should play because of the substitution. We try to be flexible and change our map vetoes and some agent picks before matches.
As a reminder, ANGE1 and the FunPlusPhoenix team are fighting for the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen. Many teams have already knocked out the championship, but Kirill's team is still afloat and doing everything to win the main prize of $200,000 and 1000 Points.
