Astralis and Cloud9 qualify for IEM Dallas 2023
Closed qualification for IEM Dallas 2023 for Europe has come to an end, with Astralis and Cloud9 qualifying for the upcoming championship in the United States. The tournament itself will take place from May 29 to June 4 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
Team Astralis from Denmark won the eliminations, defeating Team Spirit (2-0), GODSENT (2-1) and Cloud9 (2-1). In their turn, groove's charges began their qualification with two victories over sYnck (2-0) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-1), but after Ledge or Astralis (1-2). However, Cloud9 managed to outscore OG (2-0) in the bottom set to clinch the final berth from the region.
Results of closed qualification for IEM Dallas 2023 for Europe:
- 1st place: Astralis - trip to IEM Dallas 2023
- 2 place: Cloud9 - trip to IEM Dallas 2023.
- 3 place: OG
- 4th place: fnatic
- 5-6 place: Ninjas in Pyjamas and GODSENT.
- 7-8 place: Team Spirit and sYnck

Remaining participants will be determined by South American qualifiers and ESL rankings.
IEM Dallas 2023 will take place from May 29 to June 4 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Sixteen teams from Europe, CIS, North America, Oceania and Latin America will compete for a combined prize pool of $250,000 as well as a slot at IEM Cologne 2023.
