The players from Sharks Esports have managed to surprise the public with their performance. The team was successfully using the Brazilian public’s support and performed on a good level due to high motivation and a great emotional state. Initially, many viewers expected from Sharks Esports that they would hold one of the last places but nak with his teammates proved what they could. At the group stage, Sharks played against Redemption POA and Valiance, having defeated both of them in bo1 matches.

Having advanced to the playoffs, Sharks had to face their compatriots from FURIA Esports. They made a tough battle against their opponents on the first map and won 13 rounds but they were not able to win more than 4 rounds on the second map. As a result, Sharks Esports has placed 3rd-4th in the standings. Due to their efforts, the Brazilians have earned a money reward in the sum of $10,000.

FURIA Esports surprised the public with its performance too. According to many viewers’ expectations, this team had to finish its way at the championship at the group stage on the 3rd or 4th place. FURIA got in Group A with such opponents as AVANGAR, INTZ eSports, and eUnited. There, the Brazilian roster held the second place when beat eUnited and INTZ but lost in the match against AVANGAR.

FURIA beat Sharks Esports in the final stage and made it to the grand final. There, they faced the Kazakhs from AVANGAR who were in a great gaming shape. The first map finished in the favor of FURIA with a score 16-2 and the second one was over in the favor of AVANGAR with a score 16-8. The match was not easy for both teams on Train, which was the last map, and the match was brought to overtime. As a result, FURIA didn’t defeat its opponents and finished the way at the tournament on the 2nd place. Due to their efforts, the Brazilians have earned a money reward in the sum of $20,000.

AVANGAR

The fact that AVANGAR has prevailed at the championship can’t be called a surprise. The Kazakhs came to the tournament as one of the main favorites. Jame and his teammates showed that it’s worth to count with them even at the group stage. There, AVANGAR beat eUnited with a score 25-23 in the first map and achieved victory over INTZ eSports with a score 16-8.

In the playoffs, AVANGAR faced its main competitor in the face of Valiance & Co. The battle with the European team was not easy for both participants of the match but as a result, AVANGAR managed to win with a score 2-1 after all. They had a tough match with FURIA Esports in the final. There, they lost on the first map with a score 2-16 and prevailed on the second and third with a score 16-8 and 19-16.

AVANGAR has become the champions of the tournament and earned the main money prize pool in the sum of $50,000.

An interesting fact: this tournament has brought the biggest money prize to the team. In such a way, the victory at DreamHack Open Rio 2019 is the most serious achievements in AVANGAR’s career.

Valiance & Co

The European team was the main favorite to win the championship and had the lower odds on the triumph at DreamHack Open Rio 2019 at bookmaker companies. Valiance placed second at the group stage, after beat W7M Gaming twice but lost the match against Sharks Esports. They faced AVANGAR int he playoffs where were defeated with a score 1-2. Valiance & Co held the 3rd-4th place at the past DreamHack Open Rio 2019 and earned a money prize in the sum of $10,000. Many people expected Valiance to make it to the grand final, however, the fact that they had finished participation in the group stage on the second place and played against AVANGAR in the semi-final, made the Europeans face the Kazakhs where the first ones lost for the first time.

INTZ eSports

INTZ beat FURIA Esports in the first match, after which lost the match against AVANGAR. In the final match where they fought FURIA, the last ones managed to win a rematch against INTZ and advanced to the playoffs. It’s worth to notice that INTZ won only 7 rounds on two maps. In such a way, kNgV- and his teammates held the 3rd place in the group and the 5th-6th place in the standings. Their prize has amounted $3,000 and such no one was surprised with such turn of events.

eUnited

eUnited is the team, from which you don’t know what to expect. The Americans can beat representatives of the Tier-1 category but also can lose to those, against who it’s difficult to lose. This time, eUnited lost the matches against AVANGAR and FURIA Esports. It’s worth to notice that eUnited played the longest map with the winners of the tournament in the first match and were close enough to prevail in it. AVANGAR beat eUnited with a score 25-23 there. eUnited were defeated in the second map of the Americans against FURIA with a score 0-2. The team has earned a money prize in the sum of $2,000 for their efforts and the 7th-8th place.

W7M Gaming and Redemption POA

The above-mentioned teams came to the championship as the main outsiders. Almost no one expected them to get to the playoffs, not to mention the victory. W7M managed to beat only Redemption POA but lost the matches against Valiance, while Redemption lost the matches against W7M and Valiance & Co.
