For the first time in its history, the OG team failed to qualify for The International tournament

On August 30th, the OG team concluded their participation in the qualifying stage of The International 2023 for the game Dota 2. In the lower bracket, the OG lineup was defeated by Quest Esports with a score of 2-1.

This marks the first time in the history of the OG club that they failed to advance to the main stage of this tournament. The club was founded in November 2015 and has since become a champion twice.

The performance results of the OG team at The International tournament in different years are as follows:

  • The International 2016 — 9th-12th place, $311,000 prize money
  • The International 2017 — 7th-8th place, $617,000 prize money
  • The International 2018 — 1st place, $11.2 million prize money
  • The International 2019 — 1st place, $15.6 million prize money
  • The International 2021 — 7th-8th place, $1 million prize money
  • The International 2022 — 7th-8th place, $473,000 prize money

The qualifying matches for The International 2023 in the Western Europe region took place from August 27th to 31st. Participants competed for two slots in the tournament's group stage. As a result of the qualifiers from this region, Team Liquid, Gaming Gladiators, and Tundra Esports secured their spots in the group stage.
