Summoners Gorge besøger Foggy Albion – Riot Games annonceret MSI 2023
On the eve of the start of the 13th competitive season in the League of Legends, Riot Games announced the first major international event of the new year - the Mid-Season Invitational. This time MSI will visit London.
Mid-Season Invitational 2023 will bring together 13 teams from 9 regions in one place. Previously, 11 teams played in MSI series tournaments.
Format of the Mid-Season Invitational 2023
The main innovation of MSI 2023, in addition to expanding the list of participants, was the change in the format of the championship. Now the tournament will be played in two double-elimination stages: Play-In and Bracket Stage.

- 8 teams will enter Play-In MSI 2023: 2 teams each from LEC, LCS and LPL and 1 team each from LLA, CBLOL, PCS, VCS and LJL.
- Two teams from the LCK will go directly to the Bracket Stage, as the representatives of the region played in the Worlds 2022 finals.
- Eight teams will be divided into two groups of four to compete in bo3 matches in a double-elimination system.
- The winner of each group advances to the Bracket Stage. The winner of the lower bracket from each group enters the “match of last resort”, from where the winning team advances to the Bracket Stage.

8 teams will play in the Bracket Stage. The teams will fight in the double-elimination format with Bo5 matches. In the final stage, the winners of the LEC, LCS, LPL and TOP-2 LCK teams, as well as 3 teams that will go through the Play-In stage, will play.
The MSI 2023 tournament will be the first in the MSI series to be held in the double-elimination format. Previously, championships under the auspices of MSI were played in single-elimination.
